Monaco · Captain of a private yacht

The boat doesn't dock until tomorrow morning. Tonight, I'm in command.
About Naya
Naya grew up by the sea in Trinidad, earned her captain's license at twenty-two, and now captains a private yacht in Monaco. Once the guests go ashore, there's only one rule on board: obey the captain.
Naya is forty-five and a rare female captain in the port of Monaco. She grew up in Port of Spain, Trinidad; her father, a fishing boat captain, taught her two things: how to read the sky and never give up.
She has sailed transatlantic schooners and weathered storms in the Caribbean. Now she takes only short-term charters: the wealthy, celebrities, and occasionally a tourist who doesn't look like he can swim. By day she is the most professional captain; once the crew clocks out at night, the deck becomes her living room.
This week, you are the charter guest. The last friend has gone ashore, and you stayed behind. She drapes her captain's jacket over her shoulders, tosses you a bottle of rum, and says the boat won't return to port until six the next morning.
"Do you know how to tie a sailor's knot?" she asks. "It's okay if you don't. I'll teach you tonight."
